CHRISTOPHER CARL CHRISTOPHER CARL (Emile de Beque)
is happy to return to the Gateway Playhouse after an absence of 21 seasons! He was seen here in such roles as Billy Lawlor in 42nd Street, Lancelot in Camelot, Max in Lend Me a Tenor, Billy Crocker in Anything Goes, Perchik in Fiddler on the Roof and Buzz Adams in South Pacific. Since last appearing here, he spent three years in the San Francisco production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera playing Raoul as well as the man behind the mask. He was in the Broadway companies of Tarzan, three years in Mamma Mia and was standby for the role of Emile de Becque in the Lincoln Center revival of South Pacific. He had the honor of playing Emile in the national tour as well. His career has been as varied as playing Lancelot opposite Robert Goulet in Camelot to playing “Leadville” Johnny Brown opposite Cathy Rigby in The Unsinkable Molly Brown, from playing Inspector Javert in Les Miserables to playing Roger DeBris in The Producers.
MELISSA CHATY MELISSA CHATY (Ensemble, u/s Nellie)
is thrilled to be back at the Gateway Playhouse! Credits include Spamalot (National Tour), The Phantom of the Opera (International Tour), Hello, Dolly! (Goodspeed and Fireside), Beauty and the Beast (Gateway), Spamalot (Performance Riverside), Camelot (Engeman), and soloist for the San Diego Symphony. Melissa was honored to represent her home state, California, at the 2008 Miss America pageant, placing in the Top 8. Many thanks to Gateway for this opportunity and much love to family and friends.

is proudly making his debut at Gateway! Recently moving to NYC from LA, Patrick was a semi-finalist on The XFactor. Before graduating from UNC Greensboro with a BM in Voice Performance, he sang around the world with the American Boychoir in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Avery Fischer Hall, and the Tokyo International Forum. ALICIA HEMANN ALICIA HEMANN (Ensemble)
originally from St. Louis, MO is excited to return this season to The Gateway Playhouse in South Pacific. JODI KIMURA JODI KIMURA (Bloody Mary)
was Bloody Mary in the first national tour of Lincoln Center’s South Pacific (Helen Hayes nomination for Best Supporting Actress) and was the only American in the tour of the Lincoln Center production in the UK. Regional favorites include: Juno in the premiere of Another Side of the Island, co-written, co-directed by and starring Olympia Dukakis, World Goes Round (Woman 1 and 3), Full Monty (Vicky), Spelling Bee (Marcy), Godspell (Sonia), Jesus Christ Superstar (Mary), Man of La Mancha, (Aldonza). She was an Artist in Residence at Central City Opera, an Apprentice Artist with Des Moines Metro Opera and has appeared as a soloist with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. Originally from Maui, she is currently based in LA hoping for a Doritos commercial. She sends her warmest Mahalo to everyone at Gateway, Dustin and the Mine and her friends and family!
KATE KRAMTIZ KATE KRAMTIZ (Ensemble)
is so excited to be back at Gateway Playhouse as an ensemble member for South Pacific! She could also be seen in Gateway’s past productions of My Fair Lady, Phantom, Beauty and the Beast and even for a short time in Gateway’s Haunted Playhouse. She is a graduate of Kent State University and a South Jersey native! Favorite regional credits include Beauty and the Beast (Silly Girl), Chicago (June/Velma u/s) and 42nd Street (Phyllis). She would like to thank the incredible family at Gateway for always being so nurturing and trusting. JASON LAW JASON LAW (Harbison)
is delighted to be making his debut with The Gateway Playhouse. Credits include Vince Fontaine in Grease, Smudge in Forever Plaid, King Arthur in Camelot, Will Rogers in The Will Rogers Follies, Billy Bigelow in Carousel and Hal in Picnic. He also sings Swedish folk music and does voice over work when not on stage. He dedicates this performance to his Grandfather, David, who served in The South Pacific.
ALEXANDER LEVIN ALEXANDER LEVIN (Buzz Adams/Ensemble)
is proud to be making his Gateway debut! Off- Broadway and Regional Credits include South Pacific (Lt. Quail), Twelfth Night (Duke Orsino), Camelot (Sir Lionel), Assassins (The Proprietor), and Fiddler on the Roof (Perchik). Other favorites include Once Upon a Mattress (Sir Harry), The Lion in Winter (Richard), and Into The Woods (Cinderella’s Prince/Wolf). Alex received a BFA in Musical Theater from The Hartt School at the University of Hartford.

Recent credits include; Smokey in Damn Yankees (Goodspeed), Nephew Fred in A Christmas Carol (McCarter Theatre), and Jake in Most Happy Fella (Goodspeed). has had an amazing summer working as part of the children’s theater in Gateway’s Cinderella (ensemble) and is so excited to debut in the main stage production of South Pacific. Most recently played Chef Louis in Theater Under The Stars production of The Little Mermaid and could have been seen in Mamma Mia across North America as Father Alexandros. TIFFANY TOH TIFFANY TOH (Liat)
is excited to join the Gateway family. Raised in Malaysia, Tiffany came to the U.S. in 2007 and has been dancing professionally in NYC since graduating from SUNY Buffalo in 2009. This fall, she is proud to be joining the first international tour of Disney’s Beauty & the Beast. Favorite credits include: Miss Saigon (NSMT) and The King & I (NSMT, Arrow Rock), as well as, back-up dancing for recording artists Li’l Kim (Australia Tour) and Phish. GIOVANNI VERDI GIOVANNI VERDI (Jerome)
is excited to be performing his first MainStage production, Gateway’s South Pacific. Credits; (Gus) Gateway’s Cinderella. Giovanni is entering 6th grade and participates in his school’s chorus, show choir, and plays saxophone in the band. He also enjoys taking acting classes at Gateway. Giovanni would like to thank his mom, dad, and sister, as well as his instructors at Gateway and his amazing cast members, and friends. BRIAN C. VEITH BRIAN C. VEITH (Ensemble, u/s Cable)
is so pleased to be back performing with Gateway Playhouse. He just finished the show Final Approach in the West Village Musical Theater Festival earlier this summer and will be rounding out the summer with a great photo expedition of the South. KEITH ANDREWS(Director/Choreographer)
is thrilled to be back with the Gateway family and directing such a wonderful and classic piece of theater. Previously at the Playhouse, Keith has directed and choreographed productions of Spamalot, My Fair Lady, 9 to 5 - the Musical (starring Sally Struthers), The Full Monty, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (starring Joe Piscopo), The Wedding Singer, My Way (the Sinatra Tribute), Cold as Ice, Urinetown, 2009’s Holiday Spectacular on Ice, Happy Days, and Avenue Q. He has directed the National Tours of The Full Monty and Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh. Other recent directing/choreography credits include: Young Frankenstein, The Drowsy Chaperone, The 25th Annual… Spelling Bee, Always... Patsy Cline, Dames at Sea, Breaking Up is Hard to Do, Barnum, Pump Boys and Dinettes, Little Shop of Horrors, The Pirates of Penzance, Big River, and Forever Plaid, to name just a few. As a choreographer, Keith has recently worked on The Gig at the New York Musical Theater Festival, and the world premiere of Love, Incorporated. He also received an Innovative Theater Award for Best Production of a Musical and nomination for Best Choreography for his work on the show Like You Like It. On the ice, Keith has directed and choreographed Home for the Holidays- a Celebration on Ice, starring 2014 Olympic Gold Medalists Charlie White and Meryl Davis, and 2010 Olympic Gold Medalist- Evan Lysacek, as well as two productions of Stars, Stripes and Skates, a benefit on ice to support survivors and families of 9/11. As a performer, Keith has toured all over the world with shows such as: West Side Story, Mame, Jesus Christ Superstar and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. In educational theater, Keith directs and choreographs student industry showcases at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC as well as having directed many musicals at the USDAN Center for the Performing Arts, here on Long Island. DOUG HARRY (Lighting Designer)
is happy to be designing another Gateway production. His past credits here include CATS, Carousel, Miss Saigon, Scarlet Pimpernel, Ragtime, Titanic, Dracula the Rock Opera and Holiday Spectacular on Ice. Doug holds a degree in Theatre Production and Stage Management from Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, UK. He is currently the house designer for Mohegan Sun Casino. Doug’s company DarkSide Design has also done design and programming work for General Motors, Six Flags Theme Parks and The Basketball Hall of Fame to name a few.
MICHAEL J. IANNELLI (Production Stage Manager)
is thrilled to be on board for his first production at The Gateway Playhouse. Most recently, Michael was the ASM of the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, where he worked on The King & I, A Chorus Line and Dial M for Murder this past season. Other recent credits include: West Side Story (Ogunquit Playhouse). Les Miserables, George M! and Sleuth (Surflight Theatre). Doubt: A Parable (Maltz Jupiter Theatre). Michael thanks his family and Anna for their continuous love and support.
JEFF HOFFMAN (Music Director)
has been a professional musical director for the past thirty-eight years. He has worked as an accompanist, arranger, and conductor. Jeff has shared the stage as pianist/ conductor with Joe Piscopo, Phyllis Diller, David Brenner, Red Buttons, and Rip Taylor. This year marks Jeff’s fourteenth anniversary with the Gateway Playhouse. At Gateway, Jeff has been musical director for: Fosse, Beauty And The Beast, Drowsy Chaperone, Spamalot, Sweeney Todd and last year’s Singing in the Rain. He is also the musician contractor for the theater. Love, and thanks to his beautiful wife Diane, and boys Matt and Bobby for all of their undying support!!!
VINCENT ORTEGA (Assistant Director/ Choreographer)
is excited to return to Gateway Playhouse. He has worked and performed in Wedding Singer (Ensemble/US George), Century of Christmas, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Chorus Line (Al US Paul/Richie), and Spamalot. Vince has had the privilege of working with the incredibly talented Keith Andrews on many projects. Most recently Young Frankenstein at Saint Michaels Playhouse. Other credits include Broadway/Tours: Mamma Mia (Pepper/ Eddie US) Regional: Evita (North Carolina Theatre), Full Monty (Tony) Babes in Arms (Peter), Disney’s Aladdin (Aladdin), Sweet Charity, and Big River (Huck). Film/TV: Movie 43, Enchanted, Fame, Regis and Kelly, MTV Music Awards, American Music Awards, Disney Channel and Good Morning America.
