At the Gateway Playhouse

This Tony Award-nominated and Grammy Award-winning tribute to the music of Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller stars THE COASTERS - the “Clown Princes of Rock ‘n’ Roll.” Over forty top hits from the 50’s and early 60’s (“Stand By Me,” “Love Potion No. 9,” Yakety Yak,” “Hound Dog,” “Spanish Harlem,” “On Broadway,” “Jailhouse Rock”) come alive in this high energy show – Broadway’s longest running musical revue. With direction by Tony nominee CHET WALKER (Broadway’s “Pippin,” “Fosse”), you’ll know why the New York Times proclaims, “Lieber and Stoller are the Rodgers & Hammerstein of rock ‘n’ roll!”

The charm of Edwardian London is evoked through popular songs like “Chim Chim Cher-ee,” “A Spoonful of Sugar” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.” Originally produced by Disney Theatricals & Cameron Mackintosh – The New York Post gives this Tony Award-winner 4/4 stars, “a certifiable super hit!”

The Amazing Max is a magic show with a mind of its own. Magician Max Darwin makes objects appear out of thin air, defies the laws of physics, and performs miracles inches from spectators’ faces. The props onstage seem intent on surprising even the magician himself. This out-of-control show bursts with striking visual magic, comedy, and loads of audience participation. The Amazing Max selects all of his assistants at random from the audience, and each adds a unique element to the show. “His ability to astound is something to see.” (The Huffington Post)
